OBSESSION

I have a confession – I am becoming addicted to photography! It has been that way since I was old enough to have a camera.  Started in junior high with a little 110 wind camera.  And remember those crazy disc cameras from the 80’s???  Do you know how much it costs to get digital pics from those stupid little discs?  Glad that fad didn’t last long! Over the years I graduated to nicer and better cameras.  Last year my sweet husband invested in a Nikon DSLR with interchangeable lens for me.  I eyeballed them for years, but was always too cheap to buy one.

Now that I have this fabulous camera, I’ve taken a few day classes and spent a full day one-on-one with a professional photographer in Charleston. I fancy myself to be a pretty decent picture taker.  Probably to the point I drive my family and friends crazy with it!  My favorite things are those that are uniquely southern and/or historical in nature.  Yes, my nerdiness even extends to my photography!  I will say it’s a good thing Charleston is only a few hours away and leave it at that.

My complete obsession is taking pics of my kids and grandkids.  Fortunately right now, we have teen girls who are not averse to smiling pretty for the camera.  They are probably a little tired of me saying “hey I saw this on the net – let’s see if we can do it”!!  The next few months provide me with ample opportunity to make them even more crazy: Prom, Senior pictures, softball, T-ball for grandkids, Graduation, and off to college. Plus birthday party for both grands.  With the way our life evolves from week to week, there’s no telling what the summer months might bring!!
